Oris Launches the New Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy Watch in Stainless Steel

The daily grind of our fitness routine, followed indoors or outdoors, can expose our watches to moisture or sweat. When Oris released its Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy watch last August, it hit all the right notes with pink, light blue, and green tones in a bronze case. Now, the timepiece maker has unveiled a new version of the Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy reference in stainless steel. The collection is named after the year in which Oris’s first diver's watch was launched, i.e. 1965.

Modern watchmakers experiment a lot with new case materials these days and they enjoy a substantial fan base. Unorthodox case materials help in reducing the weight of watches to make the novelties more sustainable. Despite the innovations, stainless steel still holds sway. Another key point to be noted is that while Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400 came in a 40 mm case, the new generation Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy timepiece is housed in a sleeker case.

The latest 38 mm Oris Divers Sixty-Five Cotton Candy stainless steel collection has a unidirectional 60-minute rotating bezel with an inverted triangular 12 o’clock, and a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. The dial comes in three colour options — blue, green, and pink. What’s more, there is a white minute track on the outer periphery — this will ensure that the primary focus is on the dial colours and nothing beyond that.

Eight of the applied hour markers are dotted and two of these are bar-shaped (3 o’clock, and 9 o’clock), and there is a white background-black numeral date window at 6 o’clock to boot. The hour, minute, central lollipop seconds hands and the hour markers are all filled with Super-LumiNova®.

Powering this collection is Oris 733, an automatic, self-winding movement, which is the brand’s version of Sellita SW200-1, delivering 41 hours of power reserve. Turning each watch over showcases the screwed caseback with an Oris logo.

Each of the new watches comes with either a three-link stainless steel metal bracelet or one of the three recycled perlon straps in blue, green or pink to match the dial.  The water resistance stands at 100 metres,  which makes the watch ten times resistant to atmospheric pressure at sea level. At 100-metre water resistance, the watch can adequately take the pressure of more than just a brisk swim.
