H. Moser & Cie.’s Novelties at Watches and Wonders 2024 Celebrate Minimalism
Known for its advocacy of minimalism and contemporary horological design, H. Moser & Cie. continues its exploration of lightness, colour, boldness, and skeletonisation with the introduction of striking new timepieces. GMT India takes a deep dive into the three exciting releases at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024.
Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus and Cosmic Green
The Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green boasts a Citrus Green fumé with a sunburst pattern dial. Encased in robust 42.8mm steel, and waterproof up to 120 metres, it ensures both durability and reliability across diverse settings. The dial's minimalist approach, devoid of logos and indices, allows the Citrus Green hue to take centrestage. Leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, imbued with Super-LumiNova®, along with a white inner flange filled with the same luminescent material, enhance readability in all lighting conditions. At its heart lies the HMC 201 automatic caliber, an in-house creation, delivering Swiss precision and performance that offers a minimum 3-day power reserve.
For those inclined towards a more classic appeal, the new Pioneer Centre Seconds Cosmic Green model is perfect. Encased in a 40mm steel frame and adorned with faceted indices and the brand's logo in transparent lacquer, it embodies a timeless expression of Haute Horlogerie.
Completing the ensembles are options of hand-stitched alligator leather, rubber, or textile straps, along with a steel bracelet, secured by a steel pin buckle engraved with the H. Moser & Cie. logo.
Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton
In 2022, H. Moser & Cie. debuted the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton, marking its entry into the world of skeleton watches and establishing its distinct aesthetic. Building on this success, the brand now introduces its second skeleton model in the Streamliner collection.
The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton features a clean, symmetrical design for an exceptional visual and mechanical experience. Encased in a 40mm Streamliner case, its defining feature is transparency, achieved by removing excess material to reveal the intricate inner workings of the model. The skeletonisation process creates a luminous and transparent piece, offering a captivating view of the watch mechanism's depth. Notably, the hollowed-out barrel allows wearers to observe the spring's winding, while the openworked rotor adds to its visual appeal. Gold-plated indices and three-dimensional hour and minute hands made from Globolight® ceramic-based material enhance readability in low-light conditions.
With a focus on symmetry and minimalist finishes, the anthracite main plate and bridges are meticulously crafted, enhancing its modern aesthetic. At the heart of the watch is a one-minute flying tourbillon positioned at six o'clock, powered by the automatic HMC 814 skeleton movement. This mechanism, equipped with a double hairspring developed in-house by Precision Engineering AG, corrects the movement of gravity and reduces friction, improving accuracy and isochronism and has a minimum power reserve of 72 hours.
The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton offers exceptional ergonomics, featuring a fully integrated steel bracelet with no lugs on the case. The case middle is intricately designed with satin-finished forms and polished surfaces, topped by a domed sapphire crystal. The bracelet, constructed with fluid lines based on organic forms, elegantly follows the wrist's curve.
