Collectors’ Soiree: A Snapshot of GMT India's First Watch Event, Held in Bengaluru
One can expect nothing but magic when individuals from various walks of life come together to share their passion for watches. Such was the case when GMT India hosted its very first watch event, a collectors' meet-up, at Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru, last weekend. It brought together more than 30 avid collectors, each with their own stories to tell and timepieces to showcase. Needless to say, this was a memorable milestone for the horological community in India.
The attendees weren't just discussing their treasured timepieces but were swapping watches and wearing each other's horological marvels as well. This interactive experience allowed everyone present to share their enthusiasm for watchmaking and understand the joys and challenges of collecting watches.
The cosy ambience added to the cheerful bonhomie. Appetising food and drinks were on offer, complementing heartfelt interactions. The latest issues of the GMT India magazine were also on display, generating quite a buzz. A captivating clue-based game engaged all – it tested the participants’ watch knowledge. The winner of the game was presented with a book on horology.
What truly left a lasting impression was the enthusiastic feedback received from the participants, underscoring the success of the event. The collectors felt happy connecting with each other, exchanging stories, and simply immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the meet-up. The event fostered a strong sense of togetherness, achieving its mission of bridging gaps, sharing knowledge, and strengthening partnerships.
As this remarkable evening drew to a close, the participants appreciated the efforts on the part of GMT India to bring the community together to celebrate the ticking wonders that adorn our wrists and enrich our lives. GMT India aims to host many such events throughout India in the days to come.
