Baume & Mercier’s W&W 2026 Launches Honour the Old and the New

This year’s Watches and Wonders novelties by Baume & Mercier embrace a two-pronged approach. On one hand, they pay homage to the long-standing heritage of the Riviera. On the other hand, they celebrate the modern woman’s indomitable spirit with a touch of irreverence via a brand new collection, Joia de Baume & Mercier. We take a closer look at the new launches…

A campaign rooted in celebrating meaningful moments

Built on a bold, artistic approach, Baume & Mercier’s new communication campaign carries forward the brand’s tradition of commemorating life’s milestones — be it achieving a career milestone, running a marathon, moving to a new home — through timepieces. The design spirit and watchmaking expertise embodied in the Baume & Mercier identity elevate the intensity of each event, expected or unexpected, visible or invisible, great or small.

To aptly communicate this ethos, the brand chose a distinctive editorial line borne by an aesthetic where light and film grain play key roles in emphasising depth, texture, and emotion. Each collection is embodied by a different model with their own unique style and attitude. The scenery and accessories associated with each watch were carefully selected to showcase each collection, telling the story that defines its identity. The chromatic inspiration of the visuals combines more classical, elegant hues with refreshing modern colours such as blue, green, and violet.

Joia de Baume & Mercier

Baume & Mercier’s longstanding association with the world of women’s watches dates to 1918 when Paul Mercier joined forces with William Baume. Together, they made the pertinent observation that women of the time were indicating a clear interest in watches, and were intent on more than telling the time. Soon after, the brand began creating ladies’ timepieces, including striking jewellery watches that highlighted the strong, independent modern woman who was determined to break away from convention while maintaining her femininity. The new Joia de Baume & Mercier lineup continues to honour this same legacy.

These pieces, and by extension, the collection, is moored in a delicate and precious showcase of confident femininity and desirable freedom: the freedom to be yourself. In fact, its muse is an inspiring, modern young woman with a hint of defiance. Moving from casual to elegant with ease, she perfectly masters social codes and breaks them with grace. She joyfully embraces a playful approach to style, both soft and bold, an approach that makes itself wholly evident in the jewellery-forward piece.

Among the four models of the new collection, one exceptional piece stands out for deftly bridging the worlds of heritage and modernity: Ref. M0A10850. Designed as an object of desire, the 24mm jewellery watch draws inspiration from a historical piece dating back to the 1980s. The beauty of the model is further elevated by the 40 diamonds studded in the bezel and the silvery dial with criss-crossed satin finishes, which echo its flattened-link strap decoration.

The other three models (M0A10847, M0A10848, and M0A10849) are bijou-inspired watches that sport dainty 28mm cases without lugs, which accentuates the finesse of their soft, rounded curves. While the silvery sun-satin dial of M0A10847 is perfectly complemented by the midnight blue strap, the stainless steel silhouette of M0A10848 has a sculptural fluidity that instantly impresses. For those who appreciate a chromatic contrast, M0A10849 is perfect with its silvery sun-satin dial and black calfskin strap. All models are powered by a quartz (Ronda 751) movement and have a water resistance of 50 metres.

Riviera 73

Since its launch in 1973, the Riviera has stood out for its unique silhouette that combines modernity and elegance in equal measure. The collection’s signature, the dodecagonal case, brought a bold geometry to watchmaking of the time. The new Riviera 73 carries forward the spirit of the iconic lineup by reinterpreting the aesthetic ethos of the first generation of the Riviera launched in 1973. The new references offer a refined, contemporary interpretation of its heritage: watches with pure lines, balanced proportions, and a harmonious design that combines elegance and sophistication.

The three new timepieces (M0A10844, M0A10845 and M0A10845) are all housed within 39mm cases, and are powered by a quartz movement (ETA F06.115). Like the original, the dodecagonal bezel adds an elegant yet bold appeal to the watch. On the caseback, each model features the engraving “73” among vertical stripes, evoking the deck of a boat, and a typography inspired by the 1970s, a discreet signature that echoes the collection’s origins.

While M0A10844 combines a blue sun-satin dial with a polished and satin-finished steel case, M0A10845 presents a more fluid harmony accentuated by the pairing of a white opaline dial with stainless steel. M0A10846, on the other hand, prioritises vibrancy of colour via the blue sun-satin dial and the midnight blue strap with contrasting light blue overstitching. Each of the models guarantees a water resistance of 50 metres.
