Zenith Reveals the All-Steel Chronomaster Sport Variant with a Blue Dial

Zenith’s Chronomaster collection has been one of the greatest success stories in the world of horology. With the passage of time, it has become more modern, edgier and more powerful, compared with the first Chronomaster Original. The tricolour subdials have been a signature feature on the dial, apart from the iconic El Primero movement. Taking the collection to newer heights, Zenith has now introduced the new blue-dial version of the Chronomaster Sport (Ref. 03.3114.3600/51.M3100). It may be noted here that the Chronomaster Sport Pink model was launched last week. 

Blue is one of the colours that continue to hold sway in the world of watches; it is often used for straps, dials, hands, and crowns. Often regarded as a popular alternative to black, white, and silver, this neutral colour is suitable for all kinds of occasions and outfits. In other words, a watch with a blue dial — be it a sport or a dress watch, simple or complicated, sleek and shiny or boldly textured — can no longer be considered a niche product or just a fad. 

The new Zenith Blue Chronomaster Sport is housed in a 41 mm stainless steel case with brushed and polished surfaces. The materials used are of utmost importance here as they form an integral part of the evolution of the collection. The timepiece gets a steel bezel with black numerals for the El Primero movement. The metallic blue-toned sunray-patterned dial gets a grey small seconds counter at 9 o'clock, an anthracite 60-minute counter at 6 o'clock, and a blue 60-second counter at 3 o'clock, which is also finished in a sunray pattern. A blue date window can be found at 4:30 with white numerals.

The hour markers and the hour and minute hands get rhodium plating with SuperLumiNova SLN C1 while a central chronograph hand that completes one turn in 10 seconds comes with the signature star logo and a red tip. The Chronomaster Sport steel core collection gets pump-style pushers, crafted in stainless steel instead of ceramic, to start and restart the chronograph function, along with a steel crown at 3 o’clock.

Under the sapphire caseback is the in-house calibre, El Primero 3600, with an increased 60-hour power reserve; it now comes with a stop-seconds mechanism. The decoration has also been modernised and the 2023 collection introduces a new star-shaped oscillating weight with satin finishings. This new Zenith Chronomaster Sport with a polished steel bezel is worn on a classic three-link steel bracelet, featuring an adjustable folding clasp. The Zenith Blue Chronomaster Sport is part of the permanent collection.
