Watches and Wonders Heads to Shanghai, Hosting the Salon in September 2023
After the grand flagship event in Geneva early this year, Watches and Wonders (W&W) is back on the road. This time, it’s off to Shanghai in China as the Salon will be held in the city from September 13 to 17. Featuring 14 exhibiting Maisons, the third edition of the Salon will open its doors to the public for the first time over the weekend.
The Watches and Wonders Salon in Shanghai will celebrate creative and dynamic watchmaking. Offering its audience a series of immersive experiences, the event aims to leave no stone unturned in promoting the watchmaking industry.
Taking place at Shanghai’s West Bund Art Center within a completely redesigned Pavilion, the Salon will mark another occasion for watch lovers to reconvene.
While its first three days will be reserved for retailers, media and brands’ end customers by invitation only, the event will also remain open for the general public on September 16 and 17. Watch enthusiasts can avail of the tickets via the official Watches and Wonders WeChat mini-programme. The tickets are priced at 150 RMB (approximately INR 1726) and will be available from August onwards.
The Watches and Wonders Shanghai chapter has an exciting itinerary in store for guests, promising an all-round experience of watchmaking. The event offers themed conferences, expert panels, workshops, and presentations on exceptional expertise.
An exhibition by renowned photographer Karine Bauzin, titled ‘What time is it?’, will be travelling from Geneva to Shanghai with a selection of about 40 photos. In this ethnographic work, the Swiss photographer explores our relationship with time through a universal gesture.
The exhibiting Maisons include some of the most revered names as well as up-and-coming independent brands. These include A. Lange & Söhne, Arnold & Son, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Charriol, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Speake-Marin, U-Boat, Ulysse Nardin, and Vacheron Constantin.
All in all, it’s time for a September rendezvous in Shanghai!
