Trifecta of Minimalism: MeisterSinger Unveils New Timepieces at Inhorgenta

It won’t be an exaggeration if we say that over the years, single-hand watchmaker MeisterSinger has perfected the art of creating unique minimalist timepieces. Minimalist watches are no longer underrated, they have carved their own niche. These timepieces are versatile, easy-to-wear and can double up as dress watches.

At this year’s Inhorgenta fair in Munich, MeisterSinger has showcased three new minimalist creations, testifying to the brand’s mastery of the craft. Serving as a Europe-wide forum for jewellery and timepieces since 1974, Inhorgenta is among the world’s top five B2B trade fairs.

Inhorgenta Munich, which opened yesterday and will continue till February 27, will be treating visitors to a unique combination of individuality, inspiration and innovation, when it comes to fine jewellery, watches and gemstones, at the Trade Fair Centre Messe München. The following timepieces from MeisterSinger are among the star attractions at the ongoing fair.

Bell Hora Blue & Gold

Launched in 2021, the watch won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. So, how does one read the time on the watch? Each line in the outer circle of MeisterSinger’s single-hand watch stands for exactly five minutes. The hand is, therefore, both the hour and the minute hand. The sonnerie au passage complication produces a very soft chime, precisely on the hour. MeisterSinger has used the jumping hour technique to create this mechanism. The pusher at 2 o’clock turns this chime on or off. During the passing of an hour, the module produces one strike around the fork.

The watch comes in a 43 mm stainless steel case with a new light blue dial with double-digit Arabic hour markers, from 01 to 24, with five-minute markings in between in gold. The bell that marks each watch as part of the Bell Hora collection is also in gold.

Powering the watch is the MS Bell, based on the Sellita 200 automatic movement, with 38 hours of power reserve and it can be seen through the exhibition caseback. Finishing the watch is a dark brown leather strap with crocodile prints.

Pangaea Day Date Special Model

The first Pangaea Day Date was released in 2013 and has seen multiple variations of the complication. This successful line, Pangaea Day Date, has won the Red Dot, German Design and Good Design awards. The 2023 model, launched as a 200-piece, limited-edition model, comes in a 40 mm stainless steel case with a black-and-yellow dial. The watch also comes with the signature Pangaea triple rings — the innermost one represents the day of the week, the middle ring is the date ring and the outer ring is the time-viewing ring.

The watch gets a central hand with a red tip that rotates around the dial. Then there is a small red arrow that corresponds to the respective date and day. The watch has an oversized onion crown. Inside the Pangaea Day Date ticks the Swiss automatic movement Sellita SW220 with a 38-hour power reserve. Turning the watch over reveals the skeleton caseback with a stainless steel oscillating weight.

Perigraph 38 mm

MeisterSinger has unveiled a new variant of its Perigraph in a 38 mm stainless steel case. The key feature of the date disc is the date written (printed) around the disc that rotates with the red triangle above the logo at 12 o’clock pointing to a perfectly aligned mark.

Due to its reduced size, the watch gets a thin bezel and three dial options — a classic ivory dial with black printed indices and a black central time hand; a sunburst blue dial with white elements; and new to the collection, a polished white dial with gold hour digits, a single black hand and black printed indications. Perigraph uses a Sellita SW300 automatic calibre with a 42-hour power reserve. The timepiece is finished on a dark brown and cognac leather strap with crocodile prints.
