Time Avenue X Chopard: A Dazzling Showcase of the Luxury Watch Brand’s Timepieces

Mumbai-based retailer Time Avenue recently hosted a preview of the latest creations of Chopard for select collectors and media. The showcase included the brand’s novelties unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2024 and a collection of carnet watches.

Among the pieces on display was Alpine Eagle 33, Chopard’s emblematic sporty-chic watch, housed in a 33 mm case made of ethical 18-carat rose gold and diamonds. In an exclusive conversation with GMT India, Xavier Lasserre, spokesperson and International Sales Manager, Chopard, highlighted their Indian clientele’s love affair with the brand’s jewellery pieces. “We have some exquisite pieces on display here, including the Alpine Eagle and L'Heure du Diamant collections; I've brought some very exclusive pieces from the two collections, which will be here for some time for Indian clients to get the touch and feel experience,” he said during the event. “These are also jewellery pieces that resonate very well with the Indian audiences. India has such a long tradition and history of high jewellery ― even men wear a lot of jewellery.”

Time Avenue celebrated its 26th anniversary earlier this year and Chopard’s presence in India with the retailer spans almost two decades. The Mumbai-based retailer, helmed by Viraal Rajan, has been a prominent supporter of independent watchmakers. Speaking on the partnership between the brand and the retailer, Lasserre emphasised how the approach had been collaborative, with many special pieces made for the Indian clientele. He explained, “Chopard has been in the Indian market for many, many years now. Last year, we launched a very specific and selective creation of Lord Ganesh; there were eight pieces specifically for the Indian market.”

He also stressed how Time Avenue’s new boutique in Mumbai had ensured greater visibility for the brand. “Our relationship with Time Avenue has been long-standing and hopefully, it will continue in the future as well,” he said. “The new boutique has given more visibility to the brand, so we’re very happy with this partnership.”
