The New Blancpain Ladybird Colors Watches Are Decked with Spring Hues
Blancpain’s iconic Ladybird collection is now spring-ready with fresh colour combinations for its small seconds and moon-phase complications. There are 10 dazzling iterations in the newly launched Ladybird Colors range.
Needless to say, the Ladybird collection epitomises the brand’s pioneering role in the history of women’s watches. The journey of the collection has been a remarkable one; it evolved from being the first automatic women’s watch in 1930 to creating the smallest mechanical movement to being a force to reckon with in the contemporary world of horology. The determination and visionary spirit of Betty Fiechter contributed a lot to the collection’s enduring success over the decades. Fiechter was the first woman to head a watch Maison in the beginning of the 1930s.
A Striking New Look
The new Ladybird Colors iterations have been effortlessly integrated into the brand’s jewellery watch repertoire. Featuring five different colours – midnight blue, peacock green, forest green, lilac and turquoise – the collection sports a textured mother-of-pearl dial, set with 70 diamonds, in a red or white gold case.
If you take a closer look at the dial elements, you can see there’s an asymmetrical touch that subtly ruffles the visual balance. An inner ring, adorned with delicately tapering gemsetting, complements the offset Roman numerals. This also helps in bringing out the core essence of these vibrant timepieces. With the diameter measuring 34.9 mm, the case of each new Ladybird Colors model features 59 diamonds, totaling over two carats. The high-end gemsetting signifies a meticulous process in which each parameter is hand-adjusted to ensure phenomenal radiance. It blends the beauty of mechanical watches with the charm of sophisticated jewellery watches.
Blending Style with Substance
The small seconds version is powered by Calibre 1163 while the moon-phase iteration ticks to the beat of Calibre 1163L. Each watch is equipped with a four-day power reserve and a silicon balance spring. It is designed to keep track of daily life without compromising on comfort and style.
The intricately decorated main components of each iteration are both technically and aesthetically pleasing. The gold oscillating weight matches the case colour and features circular openworked patterns, in keeping with the dial design. With so much attention to detail, each watch is stunning from all angles.
