Smarter and Faster: Tag Heuer Releases its Latest Connected Calibre E4 Collection
In 2015, TAG Heuer decided to enter the realm of smartwatches, which can be connected to smartphones via Android or iOS operating systems. Now, this year, in a bid to expand its ‘smart’ collection, the luxury watch brand has unveiled its new Connected Calibre E4 series. On offer are TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45 mm Bright Black Edition and TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 42 mm Golden Bright Edition. As the names suggest, the new collection comes in a luxurious combination of black and gold.
So, what can you expect from the latest collection and how different is it from the E4 series that was launched in 2022? Let us examine the latest smartwatches in detail.
TAG Heuer Connected 45 mm Bright Black Edition
The model (Ref. SBR8A83.BT6302) sports a 45 mm titanium case with black DLC coating. There is a 60-minute ceramic bezel with golden lacquer and PVD (physical vapour deposition). The TAG Heuer Connected Bright Black Edition smartwatch has a steel crown with a rubber grip at 3 o’clock. The chronograph pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock also get black, rose gold-coloured detailing.
The face of the watch is fully customisable from apps like TAG Heuer Sports, TAG Heuer Golf and TAG Heuer Wellness. Other TAG Heuer micro apps include a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm. The watch also gets a 1.39-inch screen and is powered by Calibre E4 with a 430mAh battery; in other words, the watch can run all day. Wellness features include running, walking and golf updates, heart rate, compass, accelerometer and gyroscope.
The battery life of the Connected Calibre E4 watch is longer, compared with the previous variants, and the connectivity on a smartphone is also much faster due to Bluetooth 5.0. The new wireless standard offers incredibly fast data transfer. Turning the watch over showcases the black DLC titanium caseback. This model is finished on a bimaterial black calfskin and rubber strap with a black DLC titanium folding clasp, featuring double safety push buttons and a TAG Heuer shield.
TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 42 mm Golden Bright Edition
This model (Ref. SBR8011.BC6652) comes in a 42 mm rose gold PVD steel case and is a first-of-its-kind from TAG Heuer. This model gets a 330mAh battery and Google’s Wear OS. The battery requires 90 minutes to get 100% charged in order to run all day. The watch features a 1.28-inch screen, a rose gold-coloured crown at 3 o’clock and chronograph pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock. You can spot a black ceramic bezel as well.
The face of the TAG Heuer Connected 42 mm Golden Bright Edition smartwatch is fully customisable and comes with similar features as that of the 45 mm model. Like the 45 mm variant, the battery life is long-lasting and the connectivity on a smartphone is truly fast. This model is finished on a black calfskin leather strap with red lining, accompanied by a rose golden PVD steel folding clasp with double safety push buttons and a TAG Heuer shield.
Both the TAG Heuer Connected 45 mm Bright Black and the TAG Heuer Connected 42 mm Golden Bright smartwatches come with an exclusive face called ‘TONOS’. It comprises 10 different colours, along with golden indexes and complications. Also, each of the newly launched models is available in a sleek, black watch box.
