Maurice Lacroix PONTOS S Diver Stages a Comeback, and How!

Maurice Lacroix has launched the PONTOS S Diver, an upgraded version of the original model that was released in 2013. Preserving the iconic design, this diver's watch incorporates various enhancements. Sporting the brand's urban-inspired style, the meticulously crafted timepiece combines the old and the new with an impressive twist.

Enhanced Readability 

Housed in a 42 mm case, the Maurice Lacroix PONTOS S Diver is crafted in stainless steel and, for the first time, bronze. The hour and minute hands have a sleek shape and are coated with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced visibility. The minute hand has a touch of colour around its edges as well. Applied indexes mark the hours and, once again, have the luminescent treatment. The dial has been refined with sharper and more prominent indexes and minute markings. The date is now framed, making it easily distinguishable. Every detail is optimised for clear readability. At 2 o'clock, a dedicated crown allows adjustment of the internal rotating bezel, featuring a count-up scale for measuring underwater time. The watch includes a centre seconds hand and a date display at 6 o'clock. Another crown at 3 o'clock adjusts various indications and can be used for manual winding. 

Multiple Options

The latest Maurice Lacroix PONTOS S Diver watch offers multiple options to wearers. Steel models are available with either black grained or white lacquered dials. The limited-edition bronze model, restricted to 500 pieces, features a luxurious blue grained dial. To ensure visibility underwater, the crown at 2 o'clock matches the dial colour. The PONTOS S Diver watch is powered by the automatic ML115 calibre, eliminating the need for manual winding. 

The bronze version offers two straps: a vintage dark blue leather strap with the ‘M' logo and a dark blue rubber strap embossed with 'Maurice Lacroix'. On the other hand, the steel model is accompanied by three matching straps: an M-branded fabric strap and two rubber straps with the ‘Maurice Lacroix’ branding in relief. The watch features the Easy Strap Exchange System, allowing users to easily swap straps without requiring tools.

In the development stage, the Swiss brand sought the expertise of Lidija Lijić, a remarkable member of the ML Crew. Lidija is a world champion freediver, holding the impressive record of 5 minutes and 43 seconds underwater. Her remarkable ability to push the boundaries of human performance made her the perfect candidate to test the watch in extreme conditions.
