Maurice Lacroix Launches Latest AIKON Master Grand Date Watches in 4 New Colours
Maurice Lacroix launched the AIKON collection in 2016. Initially, it involved a quartz movement. It took the luxury watch brand another five years to create an upgraded collection, AIKON Master Grand Date, combining the signature sporty design with an in-house movement. The first model in this collection featured a stainless steel case with a blue dial. Later, in 2022, Maurice Lacroix released the AIKON Master Grand Date Black. This year, the timepiece maker has chosen to focus on expanding the colour spectrum. The result: the AIKON Master Grand Date Technicolour collection, boasting four new colours, with each variant limited to 50 pieces.
Borrowing details from the brand’s AIKON and Masterpiece Gravity collections, each of the new variants comes in a 45 mm stainless steel case, fortified with black DLC coating, which makes it one of the largest watches in the AIKON range. All four variations feature off-centre dials, enlivened by intersecting lines in a Clous de Paris pattern.
The four new colours include blue (Ref. AI6118-DLB0J-430-H), green (Ref. AI6118-DLB0J-630-I), orange (Ref. AI6118-DLB0J-530-J) and yellow (Ref. AI6118-DLB0J-730-I). These colours are the only difference, when compared with the black model, launched in 2022.
Each dial has a balance wheel at 8 o’clock, an openworked small seconds at 4 o’clock, dial colour-matching display and a dial colour-matching, dual disc date window at 10 o’clock. The shape of the balance bridge in the collection is curved, thus providing an inside view of the movement. All models also come with black hour markers with white SLN coating, along with black faceted hour and minute hands with white SLN coating.
The second hand with a red tip matches the colour of the respective dial. The collection is run by the in-house automatic manufacture ML331 movement with a power reserve of 50 hours.
Turning each watch over reveals the skeleton caseback with seven visible screws, engraving of ‘Limited Edition of 50’ and a black DLC-coated oscillating weight. Finishing each watch is a rubber strap with the embossed Maurice Lacroix logo that matches the respective dial colour. There is also an optional black rubber strap that can be changed through an Easychange system featuring a sandblasted black DLC pin buckle.
