LVMH Watch Week 2023: TAG Heuer Debuts Exciting Novelties
TAG Heuer lit up the stage at LVMH Watch Week 2023, showcasing its newest timepieces with cutting-edge features like a solargraph movement and sleek titanium editions.
The brand's iconic models have been given a fresh spin. And the introduction of the Connected Calibre E4 adds more oomph to the already amazing collection. These offerings bear testimony to the fact that TAG Heuer continues to captivate the watch world with its constant drive for innovation. Let’s now look at their latest creations.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary Edition
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary is a limited-edition model that pays homage to the classic Carrera. The Carrera, introduced in 1963, has set the bar for the wristwatch chronograph genre and has been worn by prominent personalities in the world of motorsports and entertainment. Carrera's story is rooted in the adventurous spirit of the Carrera Panamericana road race, which inspired Jack Heuer, the honorary chairman of the brand, to name his wrist-worn chronograph after the race.
The limited-edition model is a faithful reinterpretation of the Carrera 2447 SN, a highly collectable vintage model. The ‘panda’ dial, the vintage Heuer logo and the black counters with the white markings are a nod to the original. At the same time, modern touches like the sapphire crystal, contemporary Super-LumiNova and a 39 mm polished steel case make it a watch that stands the test of time. With the collection comprising only 600 pieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary is a veritable collector's item.
TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer
The TAG Heuer Monza is one of the most significant timepieces in the Swiss brand's watchmaking history that spans 160 years. It returns in a striking carbon edition, a tribute to the company's enduring connection to motorsports. CEO Frédéric Arnault has spoken about the "rich emotional and historic motorsport heritage" embodied in this "very special reinterpretation of its famed ancestor".
The new Monza Flyback Chronometer, with its 42-mm ultra-lightweight carbon case, features a black dial with a two-register layout, skeletonised to reveal the movement, and a translucent fumé blue sapphire crystal chronograph counter. The dial is marked with blue luminescent indexes and the hands are coated in Super-LumiNova® for legibility in low light. The watch is powered by the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 Flyback, a chronograph movement with COSC certification, and offers three essential functions for racing drivers: chronograph, tachymeter, and pulsometer. The red details on the dial evoke speed and racing and contrast with the black dial, the case, the blue indexes, the seconds hand and the textile strap. A symbol of TAG Heuer's deep love for motorsport, the Monza was first introduced in 1976 to celebrate Austrian F1 driver and aviation entrepreneur Niki Lauda's historic F1 World Championship victory.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is a part of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer collection, known for its quality and performance. The new model boasts lightness and durability, making it the ultimate companion for the outdoors. With its roots dating back to 1978, when Jack Heuer introduced the Heuer Reference 844, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer has always been a symbol of boldness and elegance, in harmony with Nature.
In March 2022, at Watches and Wonders, the brand launched the first TAG Heuer Aquaracer with a solar-powered movement, the Solargraph. The latest version of the Solargraph, made of titanium, has a sleek and sporty bracelet for ergonomics and resistance to the elements. The Solargraph movement recharges through exposure to the sun or artificial light, offering six months of power with just a two-minute exposure to sunlight. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph is available in TAG Heuer stores and on the brand's e-commerce site, starting next month.
TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Sport Edition 45 mm
TAG Heuer pushes the boundaries of athleticism with its latest addition, TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Sport Edition 45 mm. The Swiss watchmaker, known for revolutionising high-end watchmaking with its first TAG Heuer Connected watch in 2015, has established itself as a leader in the luxury connected watch segment. With the latest Sport Edition, TAG Heuer caters to committed athletes with its improved functions and the newly designed strap.
The sporty black sandblasted titanium case is complemented by a ceramic bezel, lending a polished look to this lightweight and refined timepiece. The steel crown, now topped with a rubber insert, is easier to grip, even with wet hands. And the barometer, fine-tuned for precise tracking of gradients, is bound to impress outdoor enthusiasts. An additional screen allows the user to track his or her altitude and see the minimum and maximum altitudes during the session. The new strap, made from breathable mesh patterns, complete with a rubber finish, provides a comfortable fit even during the most demanding physical activities. It is available in red, orange and blue.
TAG Heuer Connected Calibre 42 mm — Golf Edition
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Golf Edition, with its 42-mm dial and light black titanium case, is the latest offering from the Swiss watchmaker for golf enthusiasts. With its new algorithms and Full Shot Tracking functionality, this connected watch takes the sport’s experience to a whole new level. The watch automatically tracks shots from tee to green. It allocates them to a specific club, allowing the wearer's club statistics and distances to evolve, making the watch customisable to the golfer's performance. The new interface makes it easier to control golf-related functions and provides high-resolution 2D maps of hazards and distances on over 40,000 golf courses worldwide.
The watch also features a redesigned white rubber strap with the TAG Heuer logo, a black leather strap with green stitching and three golf balls included in the watch box. The new edition of the best-in-class TAG Heuer Golf app will be available right from the watch's launch. This new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Golf Edition offers golf enthusiasts valuable information they need about each hole, all without the need for interaction. The watch's slogan, ‘No distractions, just golf’, perfectly sums up the exceptional playing experience it ensures.
TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 42 mm In Black Titanium
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 in matte black sandblasted DLC Grade 2 titanium, with its sophisticated all-black aesthetics, has been highly sought-after. With the addition of a 42-mm size to the original 45-mm lineup, it was only fitting that a full-black option would also be introduced, catering to both men and women.
The new timepiece embodies modernity, high performance and style. The lightweight and durable matte Grade 2 titanium case is paired with a black rubber strap and a black titanium folding clasp, making the timepiece ideal for both daily wear and sporting activities. The watch’s caseback is also made of black DLC Grade 2 titanium and houses the heart-rate sensor in its centre. The 1.28-inch OLED screen is protected by a domed sapphire crystal and is complemented by the brand's signature chronograph-inspired design. The watch runs on Wear OS by Google and offers a range of digital services, custom timing apps, personalisation options and wellness and performance features. The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 42 mm in black titanium will be available for purchase from mid-February 2023.
