Hublot Releases Classic Fusion Essential Grey Models

The latest to join Hublot’s iconic Essential Grey collection are two new Classic Fusion models in 45 mm (Ref. 511.NX.5610.NR.HEC24) and 42 mm (Ref. 542.NX.5610.NR.HEC24). Representing the third chapter in the Essential Grey collection—one of Hublot’s most popular vintages owing to its exclusivity (a single model, a single colour, once a year, sold through a single channel)—the two new models make for the perfect collectors’ items.

At first glance, the models stand out for their understated sophistication

Choosing the Classic Fusion as the third in line in the collection, following the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey and the Spirit of Big Bang Essential Grey, comes as no surprise since Hublot likes to regularly highlight the importance of its founding models. These new models serve as a fitting reminder that while Hublot has rightfully earned itself the reputation of creating disruptive pieces that constantly push creative boundaries, the brand is also known for its iconic, timeless references that remain at the forefront of the world of watchmaking.

The integrated bracelet amps up the models' timeless elegance

Both models come with satin-finished 100% titanium cases and bezels, and bear all the hallmarks of the Classic Fusion, including integrated bracelets, satin-finished bezels sporting six screws with H-shaped heads, and sunray-finished dials with three central hands and discreet date windows. The casebacks of both references are in satin-finished titanium as well. Both models have a water resistance of 50 metres.

The Classic Fusion hallmarks are easy to spot, including the screws with H-shaped heads

In terms of appearance and aesthetics, both the 42 mm and 45 mm models appear similar but there remains a subtle difference in their workings. Each of the models is fitted with a movement that is specially adapted to the volume of the timepiece. The 42 mm model that measures just 3.61 mm in thickness is powered by the HUB1110 calibre; the 45 mm piece is powered by the HUB1112 movement, measuring 4.26 mm. However, both timepieces have a guaranteed power reserve of 42 hours.

The casebacks are crafted from satin-finished titanium as well

In the official press statement, CEO Ricardo Guadalupe shared, “At a time when so many brands and studios are struggling to guess what the next colour trend will be, we have decided to keep this essential grey, unique and different, year after year, because we know it will be a timeless collector’s item. In fact, its success proves that it already is!”

Elegant and understated with robust mechanical hearts, both Classic Fusion models indeed make for the perfect additions to the Essential Grey collection.
