Girard-Perregaux Re-Edits the Iconic Casquette Watch in Collaboration with Saint Laurent Rive Droite
Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent Rive Droite have teamed up to unveil a brand new interpretation of the iconic Casquette watch, limited to only 100 pieces. The highly coveted timepiece made its debut in the late 1970s and since then, it has been a favourite among watch collectors. Embracing new technologies and new materials, the innovative Casquette timepiece made quite an impression on watch enthusiasts. The Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 01 (Ref. 39800-32-3102-6GX), a re-edit by Anthony Vaccarello, Creative Director of the fashion house, Saint Laurent, is practical yet avant-garde.
Needless to say, the Girard-Perregaux Casquette watch has always been unconventional. Deviating from haute horlogerie norms, Girard-Perregaux equipped the original experimental model with a tubular LED display and a quartz movement in 1976. In keeping with the watchmaking zeitgeist of the 1970s, the brand earned plaudits for being a trendsetter.
As far as The Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 01 is concerned, Anthony Vaccarello has re-edited the old model in black ceramic and black PVD-treated grade 5 titanium. The case is light and ergonomic, and arches around the wrist, offering utmost comfort to the wearer. The watch is presented on a ceramic bracelet with a rubber interior, adding to the comfort. The caseback is crafted with black PVD-treated titanium, secured by four screws. The timepiece is equipped with a chronograph function and can display the time in a different location as well. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and offers water resistance of up to 50 metres.
The Girard-Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 01 watch is available exclusively at Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles as well as online via the official Saint Laurent Rive Droite store.
