Franck Muller Showcases its New Limited-Edition Vanguard Variant in Honour of the Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Las Vegas Strip, a famous stretch of the South Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada, is home to spectacular resort hotels and casinos — take Bellagio, Caesars Palace, The Venetian, MGM Grand, and Wynn Las Vegas. In fact, it is one of the most iconic and vibrant entertainment districts of the world. People from all over the world flock to the Strip for musical performances, magic shows, comedy acts, and theatrical productions. Motor racing too can be added to this list. In honour of the inaugural Grand Prix in Las Vegas, which took place from November 16 to 19 this year and covered the Strip, luxury watch brand Franck Muller has launched its new Vanguard Racing Vegas Limited Edition [(Ref. V 45 VEGAS RCG SQT CARBONE NR (ER)]. Limited to 23 pieces, the new Vanguard variant is a special timepiece in every sense of the term.

The world of racing has played a significant role in the development and evolution of timepieces. The close connection between racing and watches can be traced back to the early days of motor racing and it continues to influence watch design and technology today. Racing requires precise timing to measure performance, track lap times, and determine winners. Timekeeping instruments must be accurate to fractions of a second. This demand for precision has driven advancements in watchmaking technology, leading to the creation of highly accurate and reliable chronographs. Racing-themed watches often feature bold colours, and sporty dials and straps, reminiscent of racing car aesthetics. Racing is a demanding sport and watches associated with it need to withstand harsh conditions. Hence, such timepieces are developed with robust materials, and water and shock resistance, ensuring that they can endure the rigours of the racing environment.

The new limited-edition Franck Muller Vanguard Racing Vegas watch comes in a 45 mm aerospace-grade carbon case, which is made from 150 layers of compressed carbon fibres. The crown at 3 o’ clock has a winding shaft with two positions. The first position winds the watch while the second one is reserved for time-setting, with an integrated push button to start the Roulette Wheel, placed at the centre of the dial with a yellow-green hand to mark the random roulette number.

Inspired by the ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign, the dial comes with blue-and-red hour and minute hands, along with Arabic and blue hand-applied hour markers. Wearers can also find a 60-minute track on the outer periphery of the dial. Decorations on the movement include Côtes de Genève on the bridges, the rotor plate and the additional plate. Chamfering can be spotted on the additional plate springs. The watch is exclusively available at Neiman Marcus, an American integrated luxury retailer, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
