Fossil Names Sawai Padmanabh Singh as Global Ambassador, Unveils Signature Collection in Jaipur

Fossil is entering a more elevated chapter of its watchmaking story with the launch of its new Signature Collection, unveiled against the historic backdrop of Jaipur’s City Palace. Marking the brand’s return to Swiss watchmaking, the collection pairs Fossil’s American design language with Swiss movements, refined materials and a distinctly contemporary take on heritage.
The launch also saw His Highness Sawai Padmanabh Singh named Global Ambassador for the Signature Collection. Sawai Padmanabh Singh is an Indian polo player and head of the Kachhwaha clan, the erstwhile ruling dynasty of the Jaipur State. He was named the titular ‘Maharaja of Jaipur’ in 2011.
The partnership brings together two ideas of heritage – one rooted in Fossil’s design history and the other in Jaipur’s enduring cultural legacy.
The campaign, filmed across Jaipur, places Sawai Padmanabh Singh at the intersection of tradition and modernity. Horseback riding, studying sundial blueprints and exploring his personal watch collection form the backdrop, with Fossil Signature timepieces integrated naturally into the narrative. The campaign’s central idea, “As Distinct As Your Signature”, reflects the collection’s emphasis on individuality and enduring design.
At the heart of the launch is the Signature CS-1, short for Case Study One. Its name references the influential American Case Study Houses programme, known for its progressive approach to mid-century architecture and design. Fossil translates that philosophy into watchmaking through considered proportions, material integrity and details designed to work together as a cohesive whole.

The collection comprises two key models. The 38mm Three-Hand Date Automatic is powered by a Swiss automatic movement, while the 42mm Master Calendar Chronoquartz combines day, date, month and chronograph functions with a Swiss quartz movement.
Both watches share the collection’s design signatures, including domed sapphire crystals, record-inspired dial textures and Fossil’s subtle Triple Diamond Quality insignia. The result is a more restrained and refined interpretation of the brand’s familiar design vocabulary.
“Signature introduces a new chapter of watchmaking for Fossil, bringing our American design heritage together with Swiss craftsmanship,” says Melissa Lowenkron, Chief Brand Officer, Fossil. “His Highness Sawai Padmanabh Singh was a natural choice to represent the collection because he honours heritage while expressing it in a way that feels personal and contemporary.”
For Sawai Padmanabh Singh, the partnership similarly centres on the relationship between heritage and contemporary expression. “I have always appreciated products that honour heritage while remaining relevant to the present, and that is exactly what I found in the Signature Collection,” he says.
The launch marks Fossil’s return to Swiss watchmaking, building on more than two decades of the company’s presence and expertise in Switzerland. In India, the Signature CS-1 38mm Three-Hand Date Automatic is priced at ₹57,995, while the 42mm Master Calendar Chronoquartz is priced at ₹75,995.
With Signature, Fossil is looking beyond its established design-led identity to make a more definitive statement in the premium watch category – one where Swiss mechanics, American design and a distinctly Indian sense of heritage meet.
