Breitling Presents Navitimer Automatic 36 and 32 with ‘Better’ Diamonds and Gold

Breitling has expanded its iconic Navitimer timepiece lineup with 36 mm and 32 mm variants, wooing those who appreciate compact watches. Conceived in 1952 as a vital tool for pilots, the Navitimer has transcended its utilitarian origins. Today, it stands as one of the most recognisable watches ever crafted.

A Jewellery-like Format: Navitimer 36

The Navitimer 36 watch showcases the iconic circular slide rule and beaded bezel in its 36 mm stainless steel case rendition. It is presented with a choice of three elegant metallic dial colours (mint green, silver, and anthracite) with baton indexes. Alternatively, there's a variant featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial, embellished with round-cut "better diamonds".

The Breitling Navitimer 36 Caliber 17

As part of Breitling's mission to promote sustainability, these lab-grown diamonds are fully traceable to accredited producers, who adhere to the SCS-007 Sustainability Rated Diamonds Standard. Similarly, the full-gold version of the watch is meticulously crafted from "better gold", sourced from artisanal and small-scale mines that meet the stringent criteria, set by the Swiss Better Gold Association for social and environmental impact. All timepieces within this line that incorporate "better gold", "better diamonds" or both proudly bear the Origins label, signifying the integrity of their precious materials.

Driving the Navitimer 36 is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 17, ensuring accurate three-hand timekeeping, automatic winding, and a substantial power reserve of approximately 38 hours. For added versatility, this watch is offered with a stainless steel, seven-row bracelet, equipped with a folding clasp, or with a green, bordeaux or anthracite alligator leather strap, complete with a folding buckle.

Exceptional Accuracy: Navitimer 32

The Navitimer 32 variant, a reinterpretation of the classic aviation watch, boasts a simplified dial design, tailored to its slender diameter, forgoing the slide rule. This petite timepiece makes a bold statement with its mother-of-pearl dial, including powdery pink and light blue shades, marking a first for Breitling, alongside the timeless white option. Like its larger counterpart, Navitimer 32 proudly incorporates "better diamonds" into the collection and the full-gold version is fashioned from "better gold", all bearing the distinguished Origins label.

The Breitling Navitimer 32 powered by Caliber 77

Powering this watch is the Breitling Caliber 77, an exceptionally accurate SuperQuartz™️ movement, COSC-certified like all Breitling quartz calibers, and endowed with a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. Furthermore, it boasts an impressive 50-metre (five-bar) water resistance rating, a notable feat for a timepiece of this size. Completing the package, the watch offers a choice of a two-tone bracelet in stainless steel and 18 ct red gold with a folding clasp or a brown alligator leather strap featuring a folding buckle.

Breitling's NAVITIMER – FOR THE JOURNEY campaign celebrates the timepiece’s remarkable evolution over seven decades. From its origins as a tool for pilots, it has transformed into a powerful symbol, representing each wearer’s personal journey. 

This campaign features the Navitimer Squad, composed of prominent personalities like basketball superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, ballet dancer Misty Copeland, and aviation pioneer Bertrand Piccard. Joining this illustrious group is Academy Award-winning actor Charlize Theron, who now represents the new Navitimer 36 and 32 models as their ambassador. “You can spot someone from across a room and know they are wearing a Navitimer. It’s just that recognisable,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern. “Charlize Theron so wonderfully represents this line because she too is an icon known the world over for her strength, beauty, talent, and powerful journey.” 

Each member of the Navitimer Squad has been on an incredible journey to get to the top of their fields. Using powerful visuals and the Squad Members’ own narration, the campaign gets to the heart of these moving journeys. “My journey has always been about being up for any challenge,” says Theron. “I travelled from South Africa to Los Angeles when I was quite young and both the physical journey and the journey of being open-minded and ready for new experiences have served me well personally and professionally.”
