Breguet Expands its Marine Collection with Four New References

Breguet's Marine collection is a distinguished line of luxury watches that embodies the brand's nautical heritage while integrating modern design elements with advanced watchmaking technology. Breguet, founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1775, boasts a long history of innovation and excellence. The Marine collection is inspired by Abraham-Louis Breguet's appointment as the official Watchmaker to the Royal Navy in 1815. Introduced in 1990, Breguet's sporty Marine series now includes two gem-set models: a 42.3 mm chronograph in white or rose gold and an exquisitely feminine 33.8 mm time-and-date variant in steel. Taking the variations into consideration, there are four new references in the collection now.

THE MARINE CHRONOGRAPH 5529

The new collection comes in a 42.3 mm 18 ct white or rose gold case, along with lugs, a crown, and chronograph pushers at 2 o’ clock and 4 o’clock. The bezel has 90 baguette-cut diamonds and the blue gold dial sporting guilloché has eight baguette diamonds on the hour markers, with frames matching the case material. There are Roman numerals for 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock.

The centre of each dial on both the novelties has a wavy pattern. The two chronograph counters (the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock) intersect gently and are larger than the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. A date window with a blue background to match the dial colour is angled in at 4:30. The timepieces also get Breguet open-tipped hour, minute, and second hands in white or rose gold. The new Marine Chronograph 5529 is powered by the automatic flyback chronograph calibre 582 QA, a self-winding flyback movement with a 48-hour power reserve. Available with a midnight-blue leather or rubber strap, the gold cap on the triple-blade folding clasp is shaped like a ship's wheel.

THE MARINE 9518

This Breguet Marine 9518 is the smallest model in the Marine collection. Two new timepieces, one with a silver sunburst dial and the other with a blue sunburst dial, have dainty proportions – they are housed in 33.8 mm stainless steel cases. They are also offered with a bezel set with 50 diamonds. The tip of the second hand signifies letter “B” for “Bravo” in navigation code language. Both timepieces also get crown guards, each in the shape of a wave.

Each of these Marine timepieces has eight diamond markers set in white gold, with three Roman numerals at 12 o ‘clock, 3 o’clock, and 9 o’clock. Both watches feature a date window at 6 o’clock and are powered by Breguet's small automatic calibre 591A, which has a 38-hour power reserve. Turning each watch showcases the sapphire open caseback with an oscillating weight, carrying the engraving of “Horloger De La Marine”. Both watches feature integrated stainless steel bracelets, each with a triple-blade folding clasp.
